Hello Sweet Pea!!!

I have had a very busy week!!  Thank goodness it is finally the weekend!!!!  Today’s Crazy challenge is to use Spring as our inspiration.  I decided to make a baby card because I have not had a chance to ink up my new Funny Stroller stamp set from Totally Stampalicious!!!

The base of this card is True Black with a mat of Select White.  The decorative paper is from Heidi Grace and is OLD!!!!  I stamped the darling image on Select White using Black Memento ink, colored with my copics, punched the right side using my SU! scallop punch and added some old Michael’s ribbon.  Notice the multiple times I used the word OLD!!! LOL!!!!  I haven’t bought new stuff for months!  It’s good though because I am using stuff I have!

Have a wonderful weekend and before you go, be sure to check out the Crazies creations!!!

March Verve Diva Inspiration Team Blog Hop…..

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by!  For my card today, I used one of my old Verve favorites, Dream Big.  I love this set and with the trees and flowers starting to bloom, I thought it would be perfect!  BTW, the flowers are not supposed to be even on the squares and looking at the card now, I should have defined that a bit better when stamping them……it looks like I tried to make them even but failed!!! LOL!!!

The base of this card is Kraft with a mat of one of the Basic Grey Picadilly papers which I punched the top and bottom using one of my EK Success border punches.  I stamped the flower on Vintage Cream CS using Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight ink and then cut them out using my square Nesties.  I matted the 3 flower images on Dark Chocolate CS, tied some natural twine and added some brown buttons.

Next on the hop is sweet Shannan!!!  Have a great day!!

Hey Cupcake!!!

I want to share a card with you today that I made last week and had forgotten to post!!!  For this card, I used a brand new Cupcake Scarlette set.

This was a very simple card in which I just used True Black and Select White CS as well as a scrap of black & white polka dot DP.  I stamped Scarlette using Black Memento ink and colored using my Copics.  I did add some Diamond Stickles on the cupcake.  The right side was punched using my EK Success border punch {no idea of the name}.  Did you see the NEW Bugaboo’s just released by Totally Stampalicous???  Well, if you haven’t, you need to get over there and check them out HERE!!! LOL!!!

Where flowers bloom, so does Hope…..

Happy Saturday!

Today’s Crazy challenge is to make a 2 layer card.  I thought it would be more difficult than it actually was.

This was a very simple card.  I have been on a yellow kick for some reason…..maybe because spring is around the corner???  Anyway, I used Kraft CS for the base on top layer.  The leaves were cut using THIS Leafy Flourish MFT die and Pear Pizazz CS.  The flower is from Prima, the sentiment is THIS Plain Jane from Verve, the lace is Offray and I added some natural twine as well.  Before I embossed the stems, I stamped the sentiment using Early Espresso ink.  Oh and the butterfly is from Jenni Bowlin.

OK, now see what the Crazies did with this challenge!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by!

Here is my card which I WILL send, I promise!!! LOL!!  BTW, my layout is based on today’s Mojo Monday sketch found HERE.

The base of this card is Bashful blue with a mat of Select White.  The next layer is Early Espresso and then some old Spring polka dot paper I had laying around.  I stamped the darling giraffe and bear from Verve’s To the Moon {which is on sale} using Black Memento ink on Select White CS.  I colored using my Copics and cut them out.  I made the frame from another scrap of DP I had laying around using my Verve Rounded Scallop Frame die.  I then matted the frame with Cherry Cobbler CS.  The sentiment, included in the To the Moon, was stamped on Select White using Early Espresso ink, cut out and then a button with natural twine was added.  The red polka dot ribbon is from SU!.

Good Morning!

Today’s Crazy challenge is a fun one….at least I think so!!! LOL!!!  The challenge is to include stripes and polka dots on your card or project!  I LOVE polka dots and stripes together!  Oh, and that’s not all!!!  Our sponsor this month is The Ribbon Carousel!!!  Oh my gosh, not only do they carry beautiful ribbon, paper packs but the actual ribbon carousels….WOW, so cool!!!  You can check it all out HERE!

I used another Brand NEW Bugaboo stamp from Totally Stampalicious called Stella Peeker Darth Vader.   In case you missed it, 4 new Bugaboo stamps were just released last night!  You can see them all HERE!

The base of my card is Kraft with a mat of Blushing Bride and then decorative paper from Basic Grey’s Little Black Dress collection.  I punched the bottom of the striped paper using my Fiskar’s Apron border punch.  The beautiful pink ribbon is from The Ribbon Carousel.  I stamped Stella and the sentiment on a plain piece of paper from the Basic Grey collection using Black Memento and colored using my Copics.  I paper pieced the coffee cup.  I then matted with True Black CS, popped her up on dimensionals and was done!

Make your own Photo Canvas….

I posted this on my photography blog and thought I’d post it here too for the crafty blog followers!!

Those of you who are addicted to Pinterest may have already seen these but I thought I’d share in case there are a “few” people that may not have seen them.  Anyway, I saw a tutorial on Pinterest but did not save it since I was not a member at the time but I do remember the instructions on how to do it and it seemed so easy!  If anyone knows about the tutorial, let me know and I will definitely give proper credit!!!

The tutorial I saw taught you how to make a canvas using scrapbook paper, Mod Podge and a photo.  I did try one with the scrapbook paper but didn’t like it as much as I did when I painted the edges.  Not only that, painting the edges was REALLY quick…..gluing scrapbook paper to the sides was not.  Anyway, here is an 8×10 black and white photo of my daughter.  I told you I had my pictures printed before I learned how to remove annoying objects from a photo HERE.

So, what I did was buy a 2 pack of canvas’ from Walmart.  I think it ran about $7 for 2.  I used Matte Mod Podge and a sponge brush.  The paint is just black matte acrylic paint.   I first painted the sides and on top, about an inch in on all sides, and let it dry.  I then painted the entire front of the canvas using a foam brush and Mod Podge.  I did a thin enough layer so that you could see it but it was not in puddles.  I then laid my photo on top, turned it over on a clean piece of paper and kept smoothing the center out to the sides.  I then turned it back over and wiped any excess Mod Podge from the sides and then smoothed the sides.  I flipped it back and forth a few times to make sure it was glued down tightly.

The final step, after you let it dry really well, was to paint a layer of Mod Podge on the front of the photo.  The key to this is to paint in 1 direction so I would paint my first layer top to bottom.  I tried to keep the swipes straight but that didn’t always work out so well.  After this layer dried, I painted another layer side to side.  I did do one last layer top to bottom and actually think I will do one more side to side to add more texture.  Here is a picture of the texture.  Keep in mind that you cannot see the texture from afar.  You have to be closer as you would with any canvas.

Here is a picture of the one I did with a picture of my son

Here is a picture of the painted side

I am doing 6 of this size and will do smaller ones as well.  I am thinking the 8×10 canvas, photo, paint and Mod Podge MAYBE cost me $5 per canvas.  Of course you don’t have to do black and white.  I think color would be beautiful and you can paint the canvas any color so that it will coordinate with your photo.

Thanks for stopping by!

A Happy Hello…..

Hi!

I am not a big Valentine card sender so in case there are others like me, today’s Crazy challenge will be perfect!!!  Our challenge is to make a card/project for someone you LOVE and send/give it to them!   Oh and there is a sketch!

The base of my card is True Black with a mat of Select White and then of course Kraft on top.  The yellow DP is from Basic Grey’s Piccadilly Collection.  The darling image, from Whipper Snapper & called Chester, was stamped on Kraft using Black Memento ink and colored using my Copics.  To color the white, I used a blender pen and PTI’s Fresh Snow ink.  The sentiment, from Verve’s Happy Hello set, was stamped using Black Memento ink.  The bottom of the Kraft panel was punched using my SU! border punch.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Crazies creations!

Have a great weekend!

February Verve Inspiration Team Blog Hop…..

Hello!

Well, it’s raining here….dang, wish it was snow!!!  We have had such a mild winter, which I am not complaining, but, with it being winter and all, a little snow would be nice!!!  Just a little!!! LOL!!!

It’s that time of the month again!  Not, THAT time of the month but the 5th of the month when the Diva’s have their blog hop!  LOL!!!

The base of this card is Basic Gray wit a mat of Chocolate Chip and then Kraft on top.  The ribbon is from Martha Stewart, the Basic Gray button from SU! and some twine.  I distressed all the edges using my SU! distressing tool and stamped the warm and wonderful sentiment from Verve‘s stamp set called Small Phrases using Going Gray ink.  The bird is some old chipboard I have from Maya Road that I covered using Mod Podge and some MME DP.  The wing was just inked using Going Gray ink.

Because I am such a TERRIBLE design team member, I have another Verve card to share!  It is a very simple card but I really like how it turned out!

I needed a sympathy card so of course I reached for my Verve stamps for the perfect sentiment!  The base is Kraft with a mat of Cherry Cobbler and then Kraft again.  I embossed the top of the panel using my Quickutz embossing folder, add the flower, button and twine as well as the sentiment piece that was stamped on MME DP using Early Espresso.  The sentiment is from Verve‘s New Mercies set.

That will do it for me!  Next stop on the hop is sweet Shannan!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
